What you will be able to doYou can explain exactly which saved changes will reach each source before applying them.
Before you start
- At least one widget in Live Studio.
- A decision about whether OBS should arrange separate widgets or receive one complete scene.
Choose the scene before editing
A scene is a composition: which widgets are visible, where they sit and how they look. Select the scene and canvas you intend to change before moving or flipping a widget. A portrait composition and a landscape composition serve different shapes; inspect both instead of assuming one crop will fit both.
Scene presentation is separate from live information. Changing a layout does not create a separate set of viewers, voices or live scores. Those continue to come from the connected account and show state.
Review and apply a change
- Select the named widget so its bounds show which element you are moving.
- Drag or resize it, then inspect the actual text and artwork at the final stream size. Use the widget’s flip control or supported context-menu option for directional artwork.
- With Live edits off, review the draft and select Show on stream. With Live edits on, understand that edits can reach viewers while you work.
- Open the corresponding source in your streaming preview and compare the same composition. Save any separate layout position changes using the control shown in the editor.
Pick a source mode that matches your workflow
Choose live-edit links if you want the saved editor position, dimensions and visibility to govern the source. Choose fitted links when OBS or LIVE Studio should do the final placement. A fitted source staying centered is expected behavior, not evidence that a move failed.
Use separate widget links when you need different source ordering or transitions in your streaming app. Use the whole scene when you prefer to arrange everything in iTok. Keep the audio route deliberate in either case.
Use automatic switching deliberately
Prepare the saved scenes for When someone joins and When I’m alone before enabling the corresponding automatic scene mappings. If the scene does not switch, check the guest state and those saved targets. Automatic match-layout switching is a separate control for arranging the participants.
Starting Soon and end credits control the iTok output. They do not automatically replace every source in an OBS scene. Use a separately configured external OBS action when you need to change OBS itself.
