Practical guide

Your first iTok stream

A complete route from beta access to a checked picture and sound.

What you will be able to doA saved overlay appears in your streaming software, and you have checked both the picture and its intended audio output.

Before you start

  • An active iTok beta invitation for the exact email you sign in with.
  • OBS or TikTok LIVE Studio, plus access to TikTok LIVE for the event check.
  • A few minutes off-air to try the setup without surprising viewers.
  1. 01Edit in iTok

Choose a scene, a canvas and a named widget.

  2. 02Save the picture

Use Show on stream when Live edits is off.

  3. 03Open the source

Match the link mode and source dimensions.

  4. 04Check the broadcast

Verify picture and the separate audio route.

A correct editor preview is one step. The source and the streaming app still need to be checked.

Start with the right access

You can browse the public Studio sample before signing in. It shows example content, with editing and live controls locked. Signing in, joining the waitlist or downloading the app does not grant beta access by itself.

Invited creators use the full Studio with their own account. The browser is the common starting point. Choose the desktop app if you need a supported desktop feature, such as Windows background hotkeys or now-playing detection. Read the platform notes on the download page before installing a Mac or Linux beta.

Prepare one visible widget

  1. Open Studio Home and the quick setup guide. Save the TikTok username you actually stream with.
  2. Open Live Studio and add one recognizable widget, such as Heart Me or a goal. Start with one so it is easy to tell which source you are checking.
  3. Choose the intended scene and portrait or landscape canvas. Resize and position the widget where it will be readable on a phone.
  4. If you are editing in Preview mode, select Show on stream when you are satisfied. A draft is not the saved picture your source receives.

Add the picture to your streaming app

  1. Copy the full-scene link or the individual widget link that matches your setup. Read the source behavior before copying.
  2. In OBS, add a Browser source. In TikTok LIVE Studio, add a Link source. Paste the private link and use the dimensions shown in iTok.
  3. Confirm the widget is visible in the correct scene. Then follow Source setup for audio. An individual picture source does not carry the Sounds & TTS output.

Check the whole path

When ready, open the stream test and deliberately select Test on stream. This action can be visible or audible wherever that overlay is open, including your broadcast. Opening a guide or the test panel does not send a test.

For real viewer events, TikTok must be LIVE and connected. Check the connection, arriving events and the overlay-source status separately. Confirm a real event against the control panel and the streaming preview before relying on it during a show.

These instructions describe the reviewed iTok beta. Provider access and physical-device behavior still need to be checked in your setup.
