Practical guide

Keep your setup private and responsive

Protect source links, separate accounts and troubleshoot load without risking the show.

What you will be able to doYour support evidence is useful, private links stay protected and performance claims are measured against a repeatable scene.

Before you start

  • Your intended show scene and a short list of required widgets.
  • Access to your operating system’s task monitor and the streaming software’s statistics.

Treat access links as credentials

A private overlay URL grants access to an output. Do not post it in a public bug report, livestream chat or unredacted screenshot. Keep account credentials, companion pairing information and webhook secrets out of shared media.

Use the correct account and browser profile. Local sound libraries and account settings have different storage rules, and a second browser is not automatically the same working environment.

Reduce unnecessary work

  • Keep one intended control window active rather than competing writer windows.
  • Use only the sources your scene needs, and avoid capturing duplicate audio outputs.
  • Pause local preview motion when you do not need it. That preference is separate from the stream’s output.
  • Review high-resolution animated media and source dimensions before adding several copies.
  • Schedule app or source reloads when they will not interrupt a performance, and preserve the saved show state.

Compare the same workload

For a useful performance check, use the same scene, source sizes, animation duration, frame rate and event rate. Record CPU, memory, dropped frames and the stage at which an event appears late. A quiet static scene and a busy animated scene are not comparable workloads.

There is no controlled head-to-head benchmark establishing that iTok is faster, lighter or more reliable than TikFinity. Test on the machine and streaming setup you actually use. A local fixture verifies only the behavior it exercises.

Separate help from a bug report

Use Learn or the contextual help control for setup instructions. Use feedback for a reproducible problem, with the affected tool, version, approximate time and a redacted recording if useful.

If a capability requires a local integration, report its connection status as well as iTok’s. If the problem appears only in the public stream, include whether OBS or LIVE Studio already showed the correct result.

These instructions describe the reviewed iTok beta. Provider access and physical-device behavior still need to be checked in your setup.
