Practical guide

Make a gift trigger an alert or action

Build an event rule with a reusable response, clear conditions and controlled repetition.

What you will be able to doA saved, enabled event rule triggers the intended response without an accidental second reaction.

Before you start

  • A connected account and the response media or sound you intend to use.
  • A clear rule, such as a particular gift triggering one short alert.

Example rule structure. Only the saved, enabled rule can react to the matching live event.

An event starts a response

The event answers “what happened?” A gift, follow, share, chat command or other supported trigger can start a rule. Conditions narrow who or what is eligible. The response answers “what should happen?” It can show an alert, play a sound, speak text, display media or use another supported action.

A reusable response lets several rules use the same prepared effect. It also means you should review the rules linked to it before changing that response. Changing one shared effect can change several triggers.

Build one rule end to end

  1. Open Actions and choose the event. For gifts, select the intended gift or available value condition rather than relying on a similar-looking name.
  2. Set audience filters and any other conditions that matter. Start broad enough to test the intended case, then add restrictions deliberately.
  3. Add the response and configure its media, text, sound and placement. Use a clear name you will recognize during a show.
  4. Review global and viewer cooldowns. They can suppress repeated reactions. Gift-streak actions are processed automatically when the streak completes, using its total value; this is not a configurable combo-repeat control.
  5. Save the draft and enable the rule. Verify it with an explicit test, then with a matching event when LIVE.

Check the actual alert output

A response can be correctly triggered while the picture is hidden by a scene, visibility setting or crop. Check the named alert’s position and source, not only the main Alerts area. Verify the artwork and readable text at phone size.

An on-stream test is visible to viewers. Use local previews for preparation and the explicit on-stream control when you intend to check the broadcast output.

If a reaction is missing or repeated

  • No arriving event: inspect the TikTok connection and event feed first.
  • Event arrived, no response: inspect rule enablement, filters, gift choice, cooldown and pause state.
  • Response in iTok, missing picture or sound: inspect source visibility, scene and audio routing.
  • Two reactions: look for two enabled rules, two active outputs or another app responding to the same event.

These instructions describe the reviewed iTok beta. Provider access and physical-device behavior still need to be checked in your setup.
